The Challenge

Expion were approached by Nomad Foods, a pan-European food manufacturer, and proud owner of the Birds Eye brand. Already a household name, they had recently been purchased, and were incorporating new brands into the portfolio, as well as changing the way that they operated. Part of the change was to close a site in Scandinavia, and transfer the products manufactured there to their flagship site in Mainland Europe.

Not only did they require the key skills within product, process and packaging development, they also required support within lean manufacturing and technical/quality. All candidates needed to be strong linguists, and have the ability to be based out in Europe for at least 6 months.

Considerable additional resource was required to transfer the products seamlessly into the new site, and manage the transition, alongside making the whole operation more efficient.

Partnering with Expion

Our relationship with the hiring managers was critical. Candidates were required to interview quickly, sometimes within 24 hours, and also be able to move with minimal restrictions. We developed strong lines of communication with the leadership team, and was able to place candidates quickly, and crucially within the interim market, before other roles were offered to them.

Outcome & Results

We now have 8 contractors working for the business, and all have settled in quickly due to a comprehensive on-boarding programme led by the HR teams and line managers.
