Engineering Manager – so much more than just nuts and bolts……

Salary £80k + car allowance, bonus and benefits.

Location Essex, commutable from North London, Enfield, Chelmsford, Luton, Cambridge, South East & London

You’ll have the whole tool kit. That’s right, this role is right there at site leadership level, and you’ll be responsible for the engineering function on site. As a leading manufacturer of chemicals, this site is COMAH regulated and focussed on people and process safety. Like maintenance? That’s crucial to keep all the new (and older) kit and technology running as you and your team calculated it would. Delivering a maintenance plan and improving reliability is a key output – this business can sell all they can make.

At the core, this role is about engineering leadership, accountability and delivery within a global chemical business. And we’ve not yet mentioned the team. Going through a change process, they need an experienced leader who has worked in a fast-paced chemical manufacturing environment, and who can empower, develop and support the growth of the team.

So what’s in it for you? You’ll work for a global brand on a site which is undergoing a cultural transformation. They’re growing and you can too. You’ll probably expect great professional development to allow you to progress. Opportunities exist within the leadership team, central functions and internationally if you’re mobile.

It’s likely you’ll have degree level engineering related qualifications but experience and behaviour are the all-important criteria. You must have COMAH experience within chemicals, and be able to actively embrace and promote a safety-first culture. Working with like-minded people will give you that all important ‘fit’, and reap the rewards of leaving a legacy for the future. And you’ll wonder what you ever did before.

You might not be actively looking for a new role. You might not have an up to date CV. It doesn’t matter – give me a call for a conversation and we’ll work with you to make the rest happen.
